Strong desires equal big expansion
What does if feel like, when you read that?
Uncovering my desires – or wantings as I like to call them, and feeding them, so they become strong enough to attract a response from the energy, has become one of my major past times since I found out, that too many painful experiences around unmet desires had caused me to completely shut off of them and not even wanting to be aware of them anymore, simply because even looking at them and perceiving them as not being attainable, seemed to be too f@^*ing unbearable.
So what happened is, that every time one of those invisible desires wasn’t fulfilled, which was close to every time, the energy rising inside of me got stuck in feeling angry, frustrated or defeated and perpetuated the viewpoint, that having desires in the first place was nothing short of a subscription for being miserable.
And wasn’t that what the Buddha and the catholic church were saying as well?
Something that I hadn’t been aware of at that time is, that we cannot un-want what we want. And that behind each of our desires and needs there is a very strong pull from our unconscious that is trying to satiate one of our deepest unmet needs and emotional hungers through the more superficial wantings that we go after in our lives.
Not wanting what we want is simply not an option. It won’t make our desires go away.
They will find a way to realize themselves through more hidden ways, through the backdoor so to speak, if we don’t listen to them and tend to them consciously and with our will.
The desires I’m talking about here by the way, are not the kind that fall in the category of “I want a new dress”. They’re more desires that aim for bigger things. Like “I want a job that I really like doing”. Or “I want to find a partner that I feel seen and received and safe with”. Or “I finally want to feel at peace with myself”.
Whenever we have desires, no matter of what size, we put an energy into the world together with the desire. And the energy is what will keep you being pulled in the direction of that desire. In the same time it’s the landing spot for the energy of the universe to deliver what you’re requesting.
Basically, the way this works is like a matching game: the universe will match the energy you’re sending out and will deliver a vibrational match to your request.
What this means is: if you’ve got a huge desire, something very big you want to get or be, but the energy invested in that desire is rather fickle, or full of doubt, or if there’s a load of conditions attached to the desire in the line of “but only if I can keep this in my life” or “but only if it doesn’t mean I have to leave that behind”, it means that there won’t be a very strong response from the universe to meet your desire.
Not because they’re punishing you, but simply because they can only send a vibrational match to the energy you’re putting out. And if the energy around your desire pulls in all kinds of different directions, that’s whats gonna land for you: being pulled into all different directions, or a whole potpourri of things that don’t go together well.
So in order to enhance the way the universe will respond to your desire, you might have to clean up the energy you’re kindling its fire with.
The more pure and single-minded the energy you’re feeding your desire with is, and in the same time the less grasping and desperate, the higher the response from the universe will be.
Now, why does the introductory sentence talk about expansion? Very often we have desires, especially when they’re really big, but we don’t realize that we wouldn’t be ready yet to receive the delivery, because in order to do so we will have to grow. That may mean letting go of things/beliefs/patterns, it can also mean growing into a different mindset or state of energy. So, basically what we do when we plant our desires and really mean it, with will, is we also say:
“I am willing to expand in any sense need to be able to receive the delivery. Bring it on.”
